GUAA Session 2 Standouts
Here are a few players who stood out to us during the GUAA Session 2:
2022s
2022 5’5 SG Shania Brown (Example Sports) Tough, hard nose guard who puts tons of pressure on ball handler. She gets down hill and finishes very well at the basket. Strong body and is physical on both ends of the floor.
2022 5’11 G Shaniah Nunn (All Alabama) Tall, lanky guard that can score from all 3 levels. Has the athleticism to elevate and score over defenders off a pull-up or at the rim. Smooth stroke from the outside.
2022 5’6 G Aaliyah Smith (Example Sports Wolfpack) Strong, shifty guard who can get anywhere she wants on the floor. Attacks the basket with ease and finishes at the rim through contact. Made great pocket passes off the pick & roll. Has the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter.
2022 PG Grace Ceseretti (Bay State Jaguars 17u UAA) Point guard who can control the game & knock down shots at an elite clip. Great handle with both hands & high level shooter. Excellent court vision & ball doesn’t stick in her hands.
2023s
2023 6’1 G/F Ayanna Jackson (Example Sports 16U UA) Long wing who has the ability to play both inside & out. Stretches slower defenders out by playing from the perimeter but can punish smaller defenders with physical post ups at the rim. Also shows good timing on blocking shots. Range extends all the way out to the 3 point line & finishes at the rim with both hands.
2023 5’4 G Tamaria Rumph (Team militant 17u) Quick, scrappy & a defensive hound. She is very shifty and can get to the basket in different ways to finish over the top of defenders & creates for teammates.
2023 5’8 G Mya Babbit (Nebraska Attack 17u) Crafty guard that finishes through contact well with both hands and has a nice stroke from behind the arc to complement.
2023 6’2 F Savannah McGowan (Minnesota Fury 2023 UAA) Big left-handed post with great touch around the rim. She also knocked down the 3 & mid-range showing no hesitation & has a quick release. Physical rebounder inside.
2023 6’6 F Alexandra Covill (Northwest Blazers Fierce) Towering big with long arms & a great shooting touch from the mid-range & knocks down free throws at a high clip. Great hands, catches & finishes well off the pick & roll. Blocks shot with ease with her long arms.
2024s
2024 5’11 G Mia Zenere (Example Sports 15u) Long, athletic guard who uses anticipation and length to get steals and disrupt opponents. Has a nice touch from deep and finishes around the rim well with both hands. Plus rebounder at her position, tough player & high motor. Tons of upside!!
2024 5’6 G Clara Swearingen (KC Lady Run GMC 15u) Tough point guard that uses both hands well handling the ball & passing. Defends hard & uses her body well when attacking the basketball. Great court vision.
2024 5’11 G Sydney Manis (FBC Reign 15u) Big guard who can fill it up from outside and uses her physicality to beat opponents off the dribble. In addition to her perimeter game, she showed a variety of nice moves inside by backing down smaller guards or occasionally posting up. Deep range & quick release from outside.
2024 6’0 PG Kamora Morgan (Become One 15u) Tall, athletic point guard who uses length & nice touch to finish at the rim. Handles the ball comfortably with both hands & shows the ability to shoot from the outside.
2024 6’4 PF Lauren Crocker (Become One 15u) Big with soft hands and nice touch around the rim with both hands. Shows potential to shoot the mid-range and extend her game to the 3 point line. Rebounds the ball well, lots of upside!
2024 5’11 PG Caya Smith (BTR 15u UAA) Great length at the lead guard position & handles pressure well with both hands. Once she gets going downhill she is tough to stop, finishing well with both hands at the bucket. Uses her length to play passing lanes defensively & rebound over smaller guards.
2024 5’7 PG Teagan Colvin (Northwest Blazers Fierce) Lead guard who can score at all 3 levels & has great court vision & ball control. Makes good decisions & slices the defense with pocket passes. High motor & great defender.
2025
2025 5’10 PG Zhykera Brown (SC76ERS 15u Premier) Big point guard who uses her body well to create contact & keep defenders at bay when attacking the basket. Finishes well through contact. Handles well with both hands & shows good poise & feel. Shows the ability to shoot from both mid-range & 3.
