Nov. 19th-26th Game Recaps
Simeon vs. Bolingbrook
The game started with a bunch of runs and lead changes for both teams. Simeon started to slowly pull away with their ability to get out & run off the rebound in transition. Bolingbrook’s sophomore guard Kennidi Perkins attempted to keep her team in the game but Simeon’s size and athleticism just proved to be too much for a Bolingbrook team without Daniel Middleton.
Rich South vs. Hillcrest
In this quarterfinals matchup, Rich South and Hillcrest battled in a tale of two half’s. Rich South’s full-court press seemed to be too much for Hillcrest to handle in the first half, as their lead ballooned to as many as 24. The second half of the game seemed like an entirely different ball game as Hillcrest’s Trinity Duckworth poured in 28 of her game high 32 points. Her teammate Tahlor Sutton added 20points for the game. Hillcrest’s guard duo gave a valiant effort but the Stars of Rich South proved to be too much for the Lady Hawks to overcome. Rich South won by 1 point and advanced to the Championship game.
Bradley Bourbonnais vs. Bloom
The two teams battled in the quarterfinals of the Galaxy Tournament on Monday the 25th. Bloom came out of the gate like a storm vs BBCHS. Bloom’s post player Ashley Brown seemed to be too much for BBCHS to handle as she finished a high percentage of her shots whenever the ball was given to her in the post. Leading all scorers was Bloom’s senior Imari Clark who finished with 24 points. On the other hand, Bradley Bourbonnais struggled to score the ball even though they were given plenty of opportunities to make open shots. The final score was 61 to 44 as Bloom advanced to the Championship game against the host team of the tournament, Rich South on Tuesday the 26th.
