2022 5’6 PG Nyla Walker showed off her quickness and athleticism. She has a smooth jumper and can defend the length of the floor. Nyla showed that she can knock down the open jumper and create space off the dribble. An improvement we would like to see for Nyla is for her to limit her turnovers by making better decisions at times with her passes.
2022 5’10 PG Nayo Lear is the complete package. Nayo is very athletic, and knows how to score. Her wingspan causes problems for anyone she is defending. She has a high IQ, and a very nice midrange shot. Nayo showed that she is capable of creating shots for herself as well as her teammates. Would love to see Nayo get stronger, as it will only help her to get to the next level.
2022 6’2 F Evan Pittman is a rebounding machine! Evan has great post defense, and the ability to disrupt teams with her length. Evan showed her nice touch with her midrange jumper. Evans footwork was great around the rim. She got her defenders off the floor, and finished with both hands. Evan’s size is definitely a problem for defenders. Evan’s only area of improvement is to be able to consistently knock down her shots.
2022 6’1 F Faith Okorie is a finisher. She is always finishing around the rim, and looking to rebound the ball. Faith has the ability to guard in the post, as well as knock down the 15ft shot. We had the chance to see Faith in the open court, and she was running the floor very well. One thing Faith should work on is shot selection, and making sure she is helping to create for her teammates.
2022 5’7 G Abby Shepard is a very good shooter. She moves well without the ball, and can defend. Abby was going for every rebound and was not afraid to go for the 50/50 ball. Abby has to work on being a little quicker laterally. Abby has the ability to be pretty good, just needs to be more confident.
2022 6’0 F Londyn Powell has a huge upside. She is not afraid to take the open shot, and is a pretty good rebounder. Londyn runs the floor very well, and is a pretty good post defender. She was a true floor general and very crafty with her movements. Yow shot the ball well off the bounce from all levels and equally off the catch. Very impressive showing for Ashlyn. Would love to see her be a little more selfish at times offensively because she makes really good decisions with the ball.
2022 5’5 PG Mikayla Huffine showed that she’s a crafty guard that can be a match-up nightmare for opposing players. She has a high IQ and ability to not only set up an offense, but to get what ever it is out of it that she wants to. She’s a shifty, pass first point guard that can score whenever she wants. Huffine is a tenacious on-ball defender and she guards full court. Would like to see her more decisive as to when to take over the game.
