2022 G/F Lola Lesmond enters her junior year at Evanston High School with high expectations and more of a leadership role than any of her previous years. Since Evanston lost some key players to graduation, Lesmond will be asked to impact games more on both ends of the floor as the lead player on her team. At her height and size, Lola brings a variety of attributes to her team that are and can be beneficial. One attribute that sticks out is her IQ or understanding of the game. She’s usually in the right position defensively and does a great job rebounding. At 6 foot, she does well altering and blocking shots and she has the ability to push in transition when she has the ball. Offensively, Lola will have much more of a workload than any other player on her team. She will have to make plays for herself, as well as her teammates. Her best offensive skill set will definitely be on display, which is her jump shot. Lesmond has a pretty shot and soft touch around the midrange area. She also has good range and can shoot it well beyond the three point line. With her continued growth, look for Lesmond to make a major jump in her overall game and become the leader that’s needed for her team to be successful.
