2020 5’6 PG Ashley Berry is an important piece to the success of Benet Academy(IL) as she plays her senior year of high school basketball. The expectations are extremely high for this team. Berry and her teammates will be looking to make it back downstate, but only to finish this season as state champions. Ashley will be relied upon to be the facilitator and at the helm of a team who is engulfed with a plethora of talent. Ashley has an intelligence about the game that is usually unmatched by her opponent. Her ability to read defenses and get her teammates in the proper position offensively is one of her better attributes. She’s a willing passer and does an excellent job at seeing players open before it happens. Berry also does a good job getting into the paint and knocking down the midrange shot. As she continues to stretch the floor and shoot the three point shot consistently, her offensive game will continue to grow and flourish. Defensively, Berry impacts the game in many different ways. She pressures the ball throughout the game, which keeps opposing teams from getting into their offensive sets easily. Ashley is usually in the right spot defensively and deflects a lot of passes. She also rotates properly, allowing her team to defend efficiently and effectively. As the season progresses, Ashley and the Lady Redwings should be firing on all cylinders!
