2023 5’11 G Katy Eidle of Hersey High School(IL) is a name that will be heard throughout her high school career. Her freshman year is off to a great start and a large part of her success is due to her ability to play well beyond her age. Eidle impacts the game in a variety of ways. Offensively, she does a good job reading defenses while facilitating for her teammates. Her ability to penetrate gaps and make the right play, whether it’s for herself or another player, is one of her best assets. She’s also able to step out and hit the three pointer which gives her multiple ways to attack her opponent. Eidle also uses her size to see over the defense and already is a plus passer. On the defensive side of the ball, Katy is always in the right spot, which shows her high level IQ. Her ability to rebound the ball gives her opportunities to get out in transition faster, which is an area where she flourishes. Her size plays a major part of her game on defense as well, because she’s able to physically impose her will on opposing guards. As she continues to enhance her skill set, Eidle is definitely going to rise up the charts across the country.
